At the age of 39, Joanne Shaw won several prestigious, international, literary awards, for song-lyrics she entered into a poetry contest, and she was invited to read to Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winning authors.
In 2008, The International Library of Poetry informed Joanne Shaw, by letter, "Your work is included in the same discussion as the greatest poets of our time, and you should be extremely proud of this accomplishment."
