VERSE:
This driver's seat no longer steals the show.
My lady, who's been with me on my every road
Told me something today that I never knew,
About the way I love and the driving I do.

CHORUS:
I thought my speed and steering was what won her attention.
My manly maneuverings and my sense of direction.
Today the truth came out that my drivings been a miss.
Why she likes our drives is that we always stop and kiss.

POST-CHORUS (orphan line):   Well, she don't ask for much.  She always talks about the truck.

VERSE:
I can't keep her out of our cab, since our first date.
I introduced her to riding when it was all she could hate.
Now she steps right in, takes the passenger's side,
And swears up and down that she enjoys the ride.

CHORUS:
I thought that my speed and steering was what won her attention:
My manly maneuverings and my sense of direction.
Today the truth came out that my drivings been a miss.
Why she likes our drives is that we always stop and kiss.

POST-CHORUS (orphan line):   Well, she don't ask for much.  She always talks about the truck.

VERSE:
She rolls down the windows; the breeze won't let her win.
Then she snuggles to keep warm when I'm trying to shift.
I see this is her way of asking for a little time and luck;
It made me wonder, Why does she like the truck?”

VERSE
From icy winters to slippery mud,
We've seen roads' dirt. We've seen our love.
Our vehicle is Lord where others would kill to meet.
My wife says that's our time, that it's always a treat.

BRIDGE
The money we spent on gear,
So we can drive throughout the year.
The money we spent on gas,
Just to make our road trips last.
These country roads have not been cheap.
These country roads have not been cheap.
But it has been my entire luck;
We always talk about our truck.

CHORUS:
I thought that my speed and steering was what won her attention:
My manly maneuverings and my sense of direction.
Today the truth came out that my drivings been a miss.
Why she likes our drives is that we always stop and kiss.

VERSE
She whispered, “I'm scared of half these roads you take me down.”
"And you think its all good, 'cause I'm with a man."
“I'll never leave you, Darling. It's your kiss I adore.”
“You drive like a nut, but always open my door.”

VERSE
I opened her door in our truck built for two.
“Girl, not much about me ever bothered you.”
She said, "Years of back roads, honey and I'm still alive."
My love stepped in her passenger's side, and said, "I'll let you drive."
